- They were insanely busy, but still managed to seat us in a timely manner.
- No kids menu, but the waitress was extremely helpful in how to order for our small child.
- My father in law ordered dessert only, tried it and didn't enjoy it, the waitress offered to replace it with a different dessert or to take it off the ticket. Very sweet about the entire thing.
- My husband ordered a waffle combo with bacon. The bacon was thick cut, which is not his preference. Whom I would assume is one of the managers offered him sausage instead. Extremely nice about it.
- I had a chicken fried steak breakfast plate with home fries and eggs (the last two of which my daughter demolished). It was all very well made. I also had coffee which was so delicious, I asked for a to go cup of it. Then almost cried when I got home realizing I forgot it. 10/10 coffee
- We got a cinnamon roll and pecan pie to go, will report back in comments later.
These ladies just took the cake on going above and beyond with attentiveness and customer service. And on issues which were honestly more of personal preferences, I feel.
It was a wonderful experience and we spent the drive home talking about what we plan on getting next time we go and me lamenting that they don't open before I go to work so I could have their coffee daily.
Very highly recommend trying them if you haven't!
The pork chops weren’t it for me. The breading just wasn’t my personal preference, and it kind of falls off as soon as you cut into it. But hey — that might be somebody else’s favorite style, so no shade here. They offered to remake or grill them instead. The green beans were a little salty for my taste, and I’m just not used to getting mashed potatoes without gravy.
Now let’s talk about the wins.
The service? Great. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Pinto beans were solid. But the real MVP?
The cornbread. Baby!
I don’t know whose granny is back there guarding that recipe, but listen… I could come in and just eat cornbread and butter and be perfectly content. Or hot cornbread crumbled in milk? Whew. Don’t get me started.
It’s only week three for them, so let’s afford some grace. New spots take a minute to find their groove, and they’re very open to feedback. If you go, be kind — and pair your criticism with praise. That’s how local spots grow.
The food is amazing. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. You'll feel like family when you walk in the door.
